My 59 F100
Well here is my 2nd car. A 59 F100 with a 60 front clip. I bought it for $500 off CL. I am building it with my Grandpa and some buddies while my Grandpa is Ill. We are putting a volare IFS clip and rear axle in it along with a Plymouth 318 engine... It's gonna get painted John Deere Blitz Black..and other plans could change between here and June. Goal is to get it running before Billetproof and I'll drive it up there with my car club..The Leadheads.

Re: My 59 F100
So we got it trailered over to my friend Keeth's house where me and him unbolted the whole front sheetmetal, removed axle and springs, scraped grease and paint off of rails, found centerline of axle and made truck level, started using the flapper disc and got it to bare metal. This saturday I am going back over and I'm going to pressure wash the clip. Also Keeth ordered templates from Bobs F100 for me. I had some templates that a fella gave to me on the H.A.M.B. but they were a bit off.
Also found some rust in the cab corners:

Went over to Keeth's this morning, Just got home. Pressure washed the front clip and firewall before that removed unused wiring, then ground the firewall to bare metal () then proceeded to weld up un necessary holes, then ground those down, finished it off with Rustoleum "Ultra Coat" back primer. Getting a chrome grille next weekend, anyways let the pics do the talkin'Thanks Keeth

Re: My 59 F100
Well Keeth and I didn't get to muc done today..took the whole day to get the clip in there right, still needs adjusting. We used the templates from Bobs F100 and lined them up exactly and somehow my centerline is 2 inches forward than stock (good or bad?) also need accurate measuring points. We also kinda left on a sour note because the drivers side A arm is slightly bent and is going to either be bent back by heating and pounding it or taking the clip to chassis shop..also my wheels that are same bolt pattern don't clear the disc brakes...so Until next time...

Re: My 59 F100
Well time for a mini update:
Got the clip sitting in there near perfect, clamped it in
Started tackin it in
Keeth's welds:
then my welds:
Not very pretty towards the front because I had to fill in a gap
then finished it off with some primer to keep it from rusting..
Next time we will be boxing the frame..stay tuned

Re: My 59 F100
So after a couple months of no work done to it. We started on it again. Dissasembled the front clip, boxed the frame and ppainted up, bolted newly painted steelies on with brand new 205X75 whitewalls which I love by the way...started touching up the interior...it's getting there. also I got a job/apprenticeship at a local hot rod shop..working for my truck paint job and the apprenticeship project is another 59 F100 longbed on 67(?) twin I-beam suspension so if anyone is interested in that I'll post some pics of it later.
