Re: VIN Decoder
ok on my shop manual it says first year and second year. I have a 60 and my vin says that it was made in Febuary of the first year. So iwas wondering if that meant that it was produced in 59 and the second year was 60, or how that worked.

Re: VIN Decoder
The 5th digit will tell you what year it is. I don't know about the 1st and 2nd year in your manual. Bill
Re: VIN Decoder

"H" Plant code on a 59?
So if I have an "H" plant code on a 59, is that the same as the 57-58 trucks built in Detroit?

Vin plate
I have 2 1957 F100s and the VIn plates have slightly different appearances. The most interesting is that one lists the rear end gear ratio. Why would this be listed on one and not the other? It shows a 3.89. is that the standard ration?

VIN Question
I'm currently working on repairing my 1958 F100. I cannot for the life of me find the tag, but do have the VIN from the previous owner. I'm trying to figure out what size engine it has. And according to the engine code it should be a 272ci V8, but was wondering if someone would be able to verify it as the VIN I have doesn't match the example code. Here's my VIN: FL068A12895
Any help is appreciated!

Mercury Panel - Model Year?
Need some help identifying the correct model year. The truck was built in Oakville and has a VIN 26486A-5821010ZL. The truck is registered as a 1957 but the front end looks more like a 1960. I haven't been able to find a VIN decode for this truck. Ford Canada was unable to help. Hope someone can point me in the right direction.
Thanks,
Ted
